John and Lexi's story began in Dream Canyon on the banks of North Boulder Creek. A fishing first date had been arranged. Lexi arrived ready to go with her fly rod, fly box, and waders. John arrived in Crocs and a tank top, spin rod recently purchased at Walmart in hand. Lexi immediately second guessed having agreed to the date.
Thankfully, Lexi gave John a chance and things improved drastically from there. What John lacked in fashion and fishing prowess, he made up for in cooking romantic dinners, planning outdoor excursions, and a passion for exploration in both the mountains and the city. The fact that Lexi was game for all of the above soon had John falling head over heels. For her part, Lexi was intrigued by this New York city boy turned Colorado mountain man — their love grew from there.
The past few years have seen Lexi and John build on this foundation of shared passions to explore the world together. From laughing at (and enjoying) modern art in Chelsea galleries, to branding cattle in Wyoming, jumping off cliffs in Moab, attempting to “chill” (not John’s strong suit) on the beaches of Tulum, and shredding the gnar across the Rocky Mountains, there’s never a dull moment for these two. When not doing things that make their parents mildly nervous, they reside in the mountains outside of Boulder, Colorado and are the proud parents of two beautiful pups, Layla and Hunter.
